Agni Walkthrough by supersampled Agni Walkthrough by supersampled
Well a few people asked how I go about making my ships.

Here's a walk-through, although I used 3ds Max, it should be helpful if you use other tools to do your design.

Comments and fav's are appreciated!

i know i kinda comented on this already, but you mentioned that you 'greeble' in this tutorial. what greeble program/plugin are you using?

i only ask becuase the greeble plugin i got for my 2010 3D studio software is not acting right ^^;

Oh, I make my own. I model a collection of really small objects that I add to and reuse on different models. I used to use the greeble plugins but I found out that a lot of models ended up looking the same.

I LOVE the details, especially the level of them, and furthermore, the look of the craft is like the whole thing would be just one big gun. And that's nice.
Hyper-accelerated particle lances ftw! :D

Armor-piercing awesomeness.
Want more! ;P

Well it's a particle beam, in an older Deviation (Vesper RTU) I made it a little brighter and stronger. Thanks for the comments though!

Whoa thanks for detailed explanations on making models, that can be counted as one of the best tutorials I've seen ;)
Tips on creating own detail sets are very useful for making any vehicles

Oh, and awesome ship... Good job!

Oh, and just noticed how different the result is from your original sketch :p
Or would this be the :skullbones: battlecruiser version?

It was suppose to be more angular in the original concepts however when mocked up in 3d for the first time, I felt it better to simplify the shape considerably.

Still working on the battlecruiser concept, though it might be some while before I return to this manufacturer again.

I think the best advice any 3D artist can give and which you pointed out is to save all the greebling you make. It saves so much time and can make or break a design.

by the way this is RJB99 from spacebattles and I love the originality of your work so keep it up.
